ARC2.0 Privacy policy

This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Addiction Recovery Companion (“Application”) for mobile devices created by TM&R Ltd. The Application supports addiction recovery in Edinburgh, Scotland, helping users organize their time and find local services, facilities, and groups. All features are designed with input from recovery services and the community in Edinburgh. ARC2.0 was commissioned by EADP on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council.


What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

User provided information

The Application does not require registration or collect personal information from users. If you contact us via email, we will use your email address solely to handle your query. We do not engage in marketing activities, but we may contact you with essential information or required notices related to your query.

Automatically collected information

ARC2.0 uses Firebase for Google Analytics to collect general app usage information, such as the type of mobile device, unique device ID, IP address, mobile operating system, browser type, and usage patterns. This information helps us understand app usage and improve functionality. No personally identifiable information is tracked.

Location Information

The app uses information about the location of your mobile device. This is used to provide your with relevant information as to the meetings or services in your area. ARC 2.0 does not use your location for any other purpose than this. If you do not wish to use your location information in the app you can switch this off in the profile section of the app.

Camera and Contacts Access

The app may request access to your camera and contacts to facilitate certain features, such as importing contacts or taking and uploading photos. This data is used solely within the app and is not transferred or shared externally. You can control whether or not the app can access your photos or contacts through the app security settings on your device


Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

Only aggregated, anonymised data is periodically transmitted to external services to help us improve the Application and our service. For example, to evaluate if features are being used or are crashing for users. We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information: as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process; when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request; with our trusted services providers who work on our behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement. if TM&R Ltd is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information.


What are my opt-out rights?

Users can edit or delete any information within the app at any time. As we do not collect personally identifiable information, it is unlikely we could identify or remove specific user data from analytics. Users can stop all data collection by uninstalling the Application. Requests related to data can be made via email at [email protected].

Data retention policy, managing your information

User provided data we have pertains to app use. It does not contain any personal information nor any identifying traits. If you have emailed us, we will retain this User Provided data for as long as is necessary to handle your query. We will retain Automatically Collected information as aggregated data . If you’d like us to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact us at [email protected] and we will respond in a reasonable time. ARC 2.0 does not require any personal information to work properly.


Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We cannot access information about you or the content you put in the app. However, we do keep track of which features of The app are used

We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorised employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Application. Please be aware that, although we endeavor provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Our app is not for children

We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at [email protected]. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.


Changes

By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. "Processing,” means using analytics on your hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information. All of these activities will take place in the UK. If you reside outside the UK, your information will be transferred, processed and stored there under UK privacy standards.
